The Great Belonging Project: Day 23

“[Happy] stayed by my side day and night. While I was sick, I let her onto our bed while I rested and waited for my meds to kick in and stabilize my brain. She would jump up onto the bed, settle herself down, stretch out beside one of my legs, and prop her head on my ankle. Her companionship made my illness less isolating.” - The Great Belonging: How Loneliness Leads Us to Each Other

Oh how our pets bring us joy. Here’s an excerpt from a chapter of The Great Belonging: How Loneliness Leads Us to Each Other. I sure miss those sweet pups.

For The Great Belonging Project: Day 23, hang out with a pet—yours or someone else’s. Thank God for pets.
